Music by Elton John
Lyrics by Bernie Taupin
Available on the album Blue Moves
On a bench, on the beach
Just before the sun had gone
I tried to reach you
Plain faced and falling fast
You looked so vacant like an empty shell
Whose life had passed upon the ocean
Before light shook the sky
Down by the docks I saw
The masts unfolding
Don't turn away, please understand
It's a life and a living
And a way to keep the wolves away
From hungry hands, from hungry hands
Crazy water
Takes my fishing boat on Monday morning
Dangerous dreaming
If we all believe in the things you believe you're seeing
Oh we'd never drop our nets in the crazy water, crazy water
Tangled lives, lonely wives
Shoreline widows pray
For the souls of missing whalers
Endless nights on an endless sea
Where nothing lives between us
Just the breakers on the ocean
Separating you and me
Separating you and me
Elton John - Crazy Water (live 93' w/ Ray Cooper) (04:15)
An awesome powerful rockin' live performance (Houston, TX; 1993) of one of my fave songs ever- CRAZY
WATER- a track off of the Blue Moves album (1976). A very 'obscure' song and totally underrated,
IMHO. Ray Cooper, the percussion genius- who contributed percussion on the original album/song-
joins EJ here for a high powered, rip-roarin' performance! ;) enjoy! Lyrics: Crazy Water Music by

Elton is a blues-rock guy from the beginning - hardly an "anti-rock" guy given Dee, Davey and Nigel backing him up!

Ray started on the violin, plays keys (he played the organ on Crocodile rock under the crock head as his live debut with the EJ Band! LOL) and turned to percussion as a steady gig. I'd give just about anything to have him in a band - as evidenced here, his power and musicianship can fill in for a band all by himself. GREAT POST!!!!

you can download it on Amazon. You shouldn't have paid $50 for Blue Moves. It was not the best Elton album. I once bought it new on cassette for like $2.

for Elton with just Ray Cooper - search Youtube using these words: "Elton John Saturday Night ' s Alright For Fighting ( To Russia With ) 1979." Had no idea Cooper also played piano...

I wanted to buy this album for my mother, and supposedly it's only been released in the UK or something of that nature.. so I had to order it from HMV. It took me 5 to 6 months to get it in, and it cost me 50 dollars. But it's TOTALLY worth it!
